Prior to the election those were the words of Nick Clegg five months ago. Now Deputy Prime Minister, we’re hoping that he will stay true to his comments then. Thankfully Theresa May the new Home Secretary has put on hold the judicial review of the case until she has reviewed the latest medical evidence. We now continue to hope that sense may finally prevail and that this ten years of uncertainty for Gary and his family can finally come to and end.
The Coalition programme for government says, We will review the operation of the Extradition Act – and the US/UK extradition treaty – to make sure it is even-handed. Page 14, end of section 6.
